A fine impression printed as usual on a large sheet of cream Van Gelder. A small imperfection in the sheet in the lower margin well below the image otherwise in perfect condition.

A superb strong impression printed in black ink on fine antique laid paper, probably as originally issued by Ellis and Green in 1871 in A Series of Sixteen Etchings of Scenes on the Thames and Other Subjects, now more commonly known as The Thames Set.

Rotherhithe has always been considered the finest print of the series and one of Whistler’s early masterpieces.
