A fine touched trial proof printed by the artist on thin laid paper. Signed in pencil beneath the image, inscribed, Touched Proof. 1974. and titled in pencil at the lower edge of the sheet.

In this impression Tanner has used white gouache to obliterate the heads of the flowers to the left of the digging figure. These changes were subsequently made to the plate and the flowers no longer appear in the final edition published in 1982.
